This month’s employment breakfast seminar will look at religion and belief in the workplace, with a particular emphasis on balancing competing and conflicting rights in the light of the decision of the European Court of Human Rights in the case of Eweida and others v United Kingdom. The seminar will address the following issues:
• What constitutes a protected belief?
• How far must an employer go to accommodate the beliefs of its workforce?
• How can employers address and/ or reconcile conflicting or competing beliefs?
• What are the implications of the decision of the European Court of Human Rights?
The seminar will include discussion in relation to practical day-to-day issues that are likely to arise in the context of a diverse workforce.
