Bates Wells Braithwaite, Kingston Smith and Legacy Foresight provide a practical guide to legacy income with a particular focus on legacy income measurement, accounting for legacies under the new SORP (with input from Ray Jones, formerly Head of Accounting Policy at the Charity Commission where he played a leading role in the development and drafting of the new Charity SORP) and dealing with challenges to your charity’s legacy income. We also take the opportunity to highlight the proposals put forward by the Law Commission in its consultation paper on Technical Issues in Charity Law which affect legacies.
