Join BWB and our panel of leading industry experts for an interactive panel discussion as we consider the current fundraising scene and discuss key trends and opportunities for the future.

The panel discussion will be moderated by Mark Tasker of BWB. Mark is head of BWB's Corporate and Commercial department and has more than 20 years' experience of advising clients on corporate transactional work. His focus is advising on both cross-border and domestic private company transactions including M&A, venture capital and private equity deals. Mark also works extensively on corporate fundraising including equity capital markets work, in particular AIM. He has a strong focus in the tech sector.

The panellists include:

Carl Francis - P2i Limited
Carl D Francis is Group CEO of P2i, the world leader in liquid repellent nano-coatings. He joined the group in 2008, and has built the business from pre-revenue technology start-up to the dominant global force in super thin coatings today.

 

Mike Kennedy - Restoration Partners

Mike has significant C-level advisory experience with active board participation in young technology business throughout their life cycle and he is experienced in the challenges of restructuring and turnaround.

 

Micky Obermayer - Fjord Capital Partners

Michael co-founded Fjord in 2007 after acting as Managing Director of the World Economic Forum during 2005-2007, where he was involved in working groups on climate change mitigation and saw a need for growth equity investing in the field. He now focuses on clean technologies, biotech and diagnostics.

 

Julia Groves - UKCFA

Since co-founding britishairways.com in 1994, Julia has led a series of start ups in the digital and environmental sectors, and invested a combination of her time and money in a portfolio of sustainable businesses, including Loco2 and Trillion Fund. She co-founded the UK Crowdfunding Association in 2012, and campaigns to make finance more democratic and sustainable.

Steve Rice - Lloyds Bank

After working in business consultancy and a spell with Natwest Bank as a Senior Business Manager, Steve joined Lloyds Bank for a second time in 2004 to take a role as a Senior Branch Manager looking after one of the top branches in the country. Steve's knowledge and passion however remained in Commercial Banking and at the end of 2006 he returned to SME Banking as a Relationship Manager. Progression to a Relationship Director followed in 2011 and since June 2014 Steve has looked after businesses in the specialist sector of Media and Technology in Central London.
