Stephanie Biden, partner at BWB, has been appointed as specialist adviser to the joint committee that is undertaking pre-legislative scrutiny of the draft Protection of Charities Bill.

The role of a specialist adviser to a select committee in Parliament can involve working with the committee clerks on matters such a briefing the members for evidence sessions, attending evidence sessions and the private committee deliberations and commenting on a committee’s draft report.

The committee is chaired by Lord Hope and its 12 members include Lord Hodgson, Bernard Jenkin MP (Chair of the Parliamentary Accounts Select Committee), Nick Hurd MP (former Minister for Civil Society).
