In this article on data privacy relating to charities, Lawrie Simanowitz, a partner at Bates Wells Braithwaite, has been quoted in relation to an important data privacy case at the European Court of Justice.

Simanowitz's advice to charities is that they consider the implications of using Facebook and the risk that their data may be accessed without their knowledge.

Simanowitz addes that this case "is going to be a big problem for charities, as you never know whether the US authorities are going to turn round and want to pry a bit more."
