Community interest companies are becoming a prominent part of the third sector, with a different system of regulation in place to that of other charities. Luke Fletcher, partner at Bates Wells Braithwaite, suggests that perhaps the government should consider whether exporting social enterprise would be just as important as developing the UK's aid work overseas, and would be well served by better regulation.
