Onboard is delighted to announce the release of Governing with Intent, an investigative report into the behaviours and effectiveness of the modern charity board.
With insights from over 300 respondents, from trustees to chairs, chief executives and senior managers, the findings provide a snapshot of the trends and thinking in governance in 2015.
The report examines attitudes around how the board performs; the relationship between the board and the chief executive; and how trustees view the role of new technologies in governance. The report poses some serious questions; are boards micro-managing rather than macro-governing? Do CEOs enjoy a harmonious relationship with their chairs? How far are trustees willing to go in terms of taking risks? Can social media make governance smarter?
Onboard's Tesse Akpeki commented, “The report gives a clear view into why things are the way they and more importantly, what can be done to move governance forward. Particularly, our findings on digital practices and the relationship between chief executives and chairs were revealing. Our recommendations should help today’s boards prepare for tomorrow’s best practices”.
