BWB's Education team regularly host roundtable lunches on topical matters for our BWB Education Forum. With discussion, debate, and insights from key figures in the field, the sessions have proved to be useful and informative for participants.
The most recent session took place on 8 October and questioned: Getting an EHC plan for college - system challenge or personalised (aspirational) opportunity?
The session was chaired by Brian Lamb OBE and questioned:
- Where transfers are a continuation of the ECHP – how can it be ensured that young people get the support arrangements that they need?
- What is the relationship between the Tribunal appeals and college appeals processes? How well is this currently working?
- What should Ofsted be looking for as part of its area review in relation to post-16 provision?
- How is the DfE going to ensure that LAs don’t simply discontinue ECHP’s when young people leave school?
