Rosamund McCarthy has been quoted in Third Sector in response to the proposed amendments to the Charities (Protection and Social Investment) Bill.
In a recent Third Sector interview, Rob Wilson, the Minister for Civil Society, talks about his planned changes to regulation of charity fundraising. The article refers to a briefing issued in late last year by BWB and a number of other sector organisations which outlined a number of serious concerns about the new powers to be given to the Charity Commission.
Rosamund commented that it "is disappointing" that the government ignored the proposed amendments, stating that "some powers are vulnerable to challenge through human right legislation".
