The 'warn-warn-dismiss' is the mantra we all know as the basis for a fair dismissal in cases of misconduct or poor performance, but what about when the employer is contemplating dismissal because of sickness absence?
Many employers do not have a separate policy for managing sickness absence, and giving warnings when an employee is absent for work because of ill health may strike the wrong note.
