BWB's Simon Steeden has written a feature article in Solicitors Journal Charities & Appeals Supplement on how charities could be affected by the legal and financial uncertainty following the UK’s vote to leave the EU.

In his article, Simon discusses some potential risks and opportunities faced by the charity sector, including the prospective loss of EU funding and opportunities to bid for EU funding, and the status of European workers.

Simon continues by suggesting that, amid these changes, some charities might find some comfort in potential opportunities. For example, the UK government will have 'a carte blanche to set VAT rates and reliefs, which may create space for charities to push for a more favourable position on irrecoverable VAT, long a concern of the sector.'
