BWB's Leticia Jennings and Rob Oakley have been quoted in Third Sector and Civil Society regarding the recent Supreme Court ruling in Ilott animal charity legacy case.

Today three animal charities have won a landmark ruling in a £500,000 legal battle with a woman over her mother’s estate which they say will make it easier for charities to receive future legacies. The ruling confirms that people have the right to dictate who will inherit their estates and have their wishes honoured.

Commenting on this ruling, Leticia has said said that the findings should “comfort” all charities in the UK who rely on legacies for a large part of their incomes, and that they will "not have to justify their position as beneficiaries”.

Rob was also extensively quoted in this Third Sector article. He stated, among other things, that all cases brought under this law need to be assessed on their own merits, and this case was particularly extreme.
