Experience

Having trained with Hertfordshire firm Debenhams Ottaway, Kate has acted for a wide range of clients including companies, partnerships, charities, church bodies and individuals. The work she has undertaken has been very broad and includes landlord and tenant work, sales of leasehold and freehold sales, agricultural property, ecclesiastical property, overage, option agreement and developments to name a few.

Recent work

  • Advising in relation to the sale of a plot of land in Northamptonshire subject to an option agreement and associated with a large residential and commercial development site
  • Assisting a charity landlord in the renewal of a lease at a property in central London and recouped over £100,000 worth of rent arrears
  • Assisting an individual with a large holding of land in Hertfordshire and Central Bedfordshire in his refinancing and disposal of agricultural land subject to overage
  • Assisting a Parochial Parish Council and Diocesan Board of Finance in the lease of a church hall and in obtaining the necessary Albermarle Scheme from the Charity Commission
  • Assisting a Masonic Lodge with the renewal of their tenants’ lease of a bowling green and regularly helping landowners with option agreements to development companies
  • Regularly undertaking first registrations of title for land-owning clients and applications for adverse possession
  • Helping a Parish Council register land they had lost the title deeds to
