In this 90-minute-long evening session, we will present interactive case studies into fictional Charity Commission compliance cases, and investigations into charities’ activities.
The seminar will cover the following topics:
- the Charity Commission’s statutory duties and powers, and new expanded powers under the Charities (Protection and Social Investment) Act 2016 to give official warnings and disqualify individuals as charity trustees;
- an overview of the Serious Incident Reporting regime; and
- the potential for public disclosure of correspondence with the Commission, under the Freedom of Information Act 2000.
