Event Summary

New and affordable house-building is at a 24-year low. Philip Hammond’s first Autumn Budget announcement since becoming Chancellor in July is approaching - will the Government provide the housing policy shake-up so long overdue?

There is now widespread consent that we have a housing crisis and in particular that there is a shortage of genuinely affordable homes either to rent or to buy. Failing to address this will have serious and wide-ranging social consequences.

From the housing benefits cap to tenant empowerment, and from smart thermostats to extra-care and community property developing, our panel of experts will deliberate the ramifications of the shortage, the wider value social housing provides and the potential solutions to the crisis the UK is facing.

Join us for an interactive panel session which will explore the social challenges arising from the current housing crisis and discuss the ways we can collectively contribute to the financing, construction and efficient operation of the homes we so desperately need.

We look forward to a lively and informative afternoon.
