Event Summary

In this session we will focus on the relationship between the corporate entity and the corporate foundation, this relationship within the context of corporate money for good. Opportunities and challenges will be addressed such as issues around governance, decision-making, integration and alignment with the business, mutual influencing, risk, and public perception to understand the role that corporate foundations can and should play.

BWB's Abbie Rumbold will discuss legal issues related to corporate foundations including issues related to independence. She will talk about BWB and its approach to philanthropy including its Foundation and the relevance of its B Corp status. Drawing on the experience BWB has of advising a wide range of corporates on their philanthropic activities, Abbie will highlight key issues for trustees of corporate foundations and the executives they work with including regulatory and reputational risks.
