This event is now over and took place on Tue 31 Jul 2018
This has been a difficult but interesting year for charities dealing with safeguarding, especially for those who do no direct work with children and vulnerable adults but have been required to put in place policies and other measures due to the shift in focus and emphasis by the Charity Commission and funding government departments. We have been working with many of you on meeting the new challenges and we thought this would be an excellent time to ask you if you would like to be involved in a group we are setting up to enable charities to share and develop best practice and benefit from peer experiences and support.
The intention is that this group would meet at our offices quarterly with a discussion topic circulated in advance. One or more of our safeguarding team will be on hand to start and participate in the discussion but we see our role very much as facilitating an opportunity for you to meet in a supportive and informal setting.
The first meeting will take place on 31st July at 5.30 pm and refreshments will be available. The first topic will be GDPR v safeguarding: information flows.
Demand for this session has been extremely high so we have scheduled an additional date to re-run this session on the 2nd August.
