The August issue of the FCA’s round up highlights the risk of using introducers and lead generators who are not authorised. In particular the FCA states that it is:

"...very concerned at the increase we have seen in cases in which the introducer has an inappropriate influence on how the authorised firm carries out its business..."

The paper also focussed significantly on the insurance market. It covers the poor practice uncovered in the use of appointed representative arrangements in the insurance world. It also highlighted that more needs to be done by firms to encourage policy holders to shop around in the run-up to the policy renewal date.
