Bates Wells Braithwaite’s (BWB) Philip Trott has been featured in an article by Lexis Nexis which examines the reaction of the British Chambers of Commerce (BCC) to the UK Government’s approach towards immigration policy.

This piece also includes comments from Adam Marshall, Chief Executive of the BCC, on how the Government’s current stance is having a significant impact on the ability of British businesses to plan for the future.

In this article Philip, partner in BWB’s Immigration team, proposes two ideas which could help to overcome the current impasse with respect to future immigration policy. He argues that “grandfathering those in current employment and dovetailing them into the current Points Based System for limited or lengthy periods, or resurrecting the Agricultural Workers Scheme”, may help to resolve any current confusion from industry with respect to the Government’s intentions.
