Alex is a Solicitor in the Charity & Social Enterprise team where he advises a wide range of charities, social enterprises, creative businesses and commercial organisations. Alex advises on contracts, trading, intellectual property (with a focus on copyright), governance and legal structures, constitutional and regulatory compliance, data protection and general charity and company law.

Alex is also a member of the Culture + Creative group and has a particular interest in working with cultural and creative clients.

  • Advising on the formation and registration of new charities and social enterprises, including CIOs
  • Advising on constitutional and operational issues for charities and social enterprises (including Royal Charter Bodies), including advising on conflicts of interest, procedure and other governance matters
  • Assisting with the contracting out management of a sports and leisure facility, including preparing a contract for use in the procurement
  • Assisting in the restructure of a digital cultural joint venture
  • Advising a range of businesses on their websites, social media and digital activity, including drafting website/app terms and conditions
  • Acting on mergers between charities and not-for-profit organisations
  • Advising on music copyright infringement and on the negotiation of a music publishing agreement
