Senior Associate


Louise acts mainly for commercial, social enterprise and charity employer clients. She advises in relation to all aspects of the employment relationship from recruitment to termination.
She has particular experience of advising businesses in relation to restructures/reorganisations including large-scale collective redundancies. She also frequently advises on TUPE issues arising from mergers, acquisitions and service provision changes, including negotiating and drafting transfer documentation and undertaking due diligence.

  • Advising a housing group on handling complex grievance and capability issues relating to an underperforming senior employee
  • Advising a social development company on exiting a very senior employee, negotiating terms of departure and drafting associated contractual documentation
  • Advising numerous employers on dismissing employees, including exiting senior executives and negotiating terms of departure
  • Advising a college on complex collective redundancy
  • Advising start-up organisations on employment documentation
  • Advising an international charity in relation to transfer issues involving multiple overseas jurisdictions
  • Conducting complex employment tribunal proceedings including successfully defending a large healthcare provider at a multi-day tribunal hearing against allegations of whistleblowing, unfair dismissal, and race, sexual orientation and disability discrimination
  • Advising overseas employers engaging individuals working in the UK and UK employers engaging individuals to work overseas
  • Advising a national disability charity on undertaking pre-transfer collective redundancy consultation in connection with its merger with another organisation
  • Advising on the employment issues arising from the ‘spin out’ of numerous council services, often involving large numbers of transferring employees, drafting complex transfer agreements and undertaking due diligence
