BWB acted for start-up media company Banjo Television Limited on the investment it received from Viacom through its TV production company Channel 5 Broadcasting Limited and production division Elephant House.

Banjo is a new independent TV production business and the first UK independent to be backed by Viacom which was launched by former BBC Studios executive Mike Smith and British TV presenter and historian David Olusoga. Viacom provides infrastructure, studio space and support to Banjo for its development of high-end factual and historical programming. This transaction represents BWB’s increasing activity in the media and culture sectors and highlights the breadth of our small to mid-cap practice, representing a start-up entertainment business backed by one of the world’s media giants.
